Stevarion - Band Bio
Stevarion is the latest creation of Steve Stone; known amongst his
friends as a musical mad genius, Steve continues to create innovative
arrangements of interesting songs for this project. Steve found fans
across the US as a member of what many fans of The Independents
consider to be the strongest lineup of that legendary horror-ska band,
playing 4 coast to coast tours in that time and spending at least 9
months a year on the road.

He has performed as a session musician with
Joey Ramone and Skrap (now Charm School), shared the stage with the Ramones, Ronnie Spector, Blink 182, Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Dictators, The Skatalites and many other internationally
known acts, recorded in LA, NYC, and London (as well as regional
studios elsewhere in the US), performed on WFMU (twice) and the Vans
Warped Tour, and even toured Europe playing trumpet with "The
Internationals." He appears on the soundtracks of "Hardcore Logo" and
"Final Rinse" (in which he also makes a cameo appearance).

After leaving The Independents, Steve formed The Significant Others and
released a brief but potent pop EP. Stevarion developed when The
Significant Others slowly disintegrated; his internal musical energy
built to critical mass, forcing him to record and release a new album.
Will Wiggins and Brant Mills on bass and drums (on most tracks) and
engineer Kevin Smith's VSU congas are all that keep this album from
being literally a solo project.

Stevarion demonstrates better than any written explanation why Steve is
described above as a musical mad genius. Some songs were re-arranged in
the studio so radically as to be virtually different songs; he has a
knack for finding distinctive - probably unique sounds (a pop punk tune
featuring a guiro?), arrangements which would never occur to anyone
else but which sound completely natural.
While others may influence Steve, he lives his life as he likes. His
friends are amused by his life spent in the dark, rising for the day
after noon, spending his time in the dark basement they call his
"Cave," and retiring around the time the Joneses get up for a day at
the office. His music eschews keeping up with the Joneses no less than
his lifestyle, as he mingles sounds of the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s to
achieve music which, despite its variety of tones and tunes, will sound
precisely Stone to all of his friends and fans. If you're one of that
bunch, enjoy this new excursion into the familiar unfamiliarity. If
you're a stranger to Stone, please immerse yourself in his mad musical
world as experienced through Stevarion.
